Are you still excited about your faith? I want to challenge you with this question.
Several evenings past at the communty group I attend, this question came up. This is a serious matter here. Think about it. If you are excited about something, you generally devote time and effort to that particular thing.
Take a football game for example. People get excited about this to the point that an entire day is devoted to the event. This isn’t just a one time occurance either. Every week the same energy is there. And the off season is spent dwelling on the upcoming year (in the case of the Cubs you also hear phrases like “this will be the year”).
Why is that same excitement not the case at our Sunday gatherings? Honestly, the fact that God died for us is worth getting excited over time after time.
How can we get more excited about our faith? What’s it going to take?

Good afternoon. This is a noteworthy observation. We’re in a time when many seem to be content with a christianesque routine that almost seems burdensome as opposed to being truly alive in Christ. Yet a number of those same folks will go all out for a super bowl party. A festivity centering around a game which most likely features two teams that they’re not even fans of. WOW!
Thanks for the observation. Blessings always in Jesus name.

I think it comes down to the relationship one has with God. As we all know relationships must be developed, nurtured and experienced over time. If all we are doing with regards to God is performing various religious acts, what kind of relationship do we have.
I love my wife and have been with her now for close to 30 years. Everyday I say hi and tell her I love her. We do things together and have a large variety of shared memories. The point is, our relationship has been developed over the course of time. I believe that God deserves better that what I would give my wife. As Christians we should strive to build that fully functioning relationship with God like we would any other high quality relationship we have. That will help create great excitement indeed.
Just a thought, Glenn
