1. Write- it gives me a break from the high pressure of the other 23 hours and 45 minutes of my day. I use to think you had to be ‘arrogant’ to write a blog. I mean of the wealth of information from experts on the internet why would people want to read your thoughts (or any other person’s thoughts). Of course here I am reading your blog and commenting on it, and you are the exact opposite of arrogant. Sort of like when I read the comment section of ESPN.com on reports about Brett Favre. Lots of people comment about how stupid ESPN is for reporting it, yet they take the time read the article and furthermore comment on it. I digress.
2. Live- I suppose the Christian answer would be ‘Christ’. But probably due to my lack of faith and other shortcomings, I would have to honestly answer my family. I figure God wants me to follow him, but certainly doesn’t need me to. And if I was really motivated by Christ’s death, you think I could go one day without sinning. But alas I don’t. I think that my family is more tangible/visible, it motivates me more. It requires less faith on my part. Not that its wrong to have them motivate me, but I believe ultimately that motivation should be through Christ first.
3. Day to Day- See answer to number 2. Though perhaps a little more nobly (is that a word?) helping the less fortunate. As many people do, I often get down on my own problems in life, but seeing how others have ‘greater’ problems, it motivates me to be a little less self-centered. Emphasis on the little.
