I totally agree with you on that. Being that there are so many manuscripts, and being that we have not discovered any originaly copies, a correct translation takes work and time.

Well, the King James Version is based on the Textus Receptus, which is generally regarded as a poor manuscipt as it contains a lot of minor texts. You are right that every english translation contains translator bias. However, keep in mind that even the current recognized Greek (UBS4/NA27) and Hebrew (BHS) scriptures could be argued to have translational bias. It is important that you take account the bias and spend time looking at multiple English versions and reliable study aids. And of course, ask a seminary trained Pastor about any questions. Wouldn't you agree?

leave it up to you, mick, to know when people started drinking coffee. :-) that really is amazing. i should do some research on that myself.
by the bye, i very much enjoy the NLT as well as my NASB/The Message side-by-side (like the milkshakes from steak and shake!)!

[...] 14 October, 2008 Mormons believe in the Bible. Their preferred translation is the King James Version (KJV). Many other Christian churches use this translation today. I would say that this is probably one of the worse translations to get these days. If you want to know a little more about that, please refer to What Version of the Bible Do You Use?
